Terms of Use

Last updated: October 29, 2026

These Terms of Use are the rules for using KantoHub, a directory of local businesses in the Philippines. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your information.

1. What KantoHub is

KantoHub helps people find neighbourhood businesses: what they offer, where they are, their hours and what other customers think. Business owners list their businesses for free and can pay for extra features. We are a directory only. We don’t sell the businesses’ products or services, take orders or handle payments between you and a business. Anything you buy or arrange with a business is between you and that business.

2. Your account

  • You need an account to write reviews, report a listing, get notifications from places you follow, or list a business. You can browse, search and keep favorites without one.
  • You must be 18 or older to create an account.
  • There are two kinds of accounts: a member account for customers (reviews, favorites, follows) and a business owner account for people who list a business. A member can become an owner later by setting up a business.
  • Give your real name and a working email address. We send a link to confirm your email; until you do, your listings stay offline and your reviews wait.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
  • One person, one account. Don’t make accounts for other people without their permission, and don’t pretend to be someone else.

3. Listing a business

  • Only list a business you own or manage, or one you are authorised to represent.
  • Keep the information true and up to date: name, category, address and map pin, phone, hours, menu, services, prices, photos, delivery details and promos.
  • Business phone numbers must be Philippine numbers. A number can be used on one owner’s listings only (you can reuse it on your own branches). If another listing already uses your number, you can ask us to check it with “Is it yours?”; we decide whether it can be shared.
  • Only upload photos and text you own or have permission to use.
  • A free account can have one listing. More listings come with Pro, and Pro owners can buy extra listings (see section 6).
  • Listings go live once your email is confirmed. We may still check, edit, hide or remove any listing, for example if it is reported, looks like a duplicate, is out of date, or breaks these Terms. If we hide your listing, we tell you why and you can reply with an explanation or proof from your editor.
  • Suggested categories, tags and communities are reviewed by our team before they appear on the site.

4. The Verified badge

Owners can ask for a Verified badge by sending their business documents (a business permit and BIR Form 2303 are required; DTI, SEC or CDA registration and a barangay clearance are optional). Our team checks them and approves the badge or sends the request back with a note. Send only real, current documents for your own business. The badge means we saw documents that matched the listing when we checked; it is not a guarantee of the business’s quality or conduct. We can remove the badge if the information changes or the documents turn out to be wrong.

5. Reviews and replies

  • Review only places you have actually visited or used. One review per business per account, and owners can’t review their own business.
  • Be honest and respectful. Describe your own experience.
  • Not allowed: fake reviews, reviews you were paid or rewarded for, reviews of a competitor, insults, hate speech, threats, personal information about other people (phone numbers, addresses, plate numbers), spam, and links to sell something.
  • You can add a few photos to a review. They must be your own and must not show other people in a way they would object to.
  • Reviews show your public name (for example “Maria S.”), your profile photo if you added one, your stars, your words and your photos.
  • The business owner can post one public reply to each review. Replies follow the same rules.
  • You can edit or delete your own review. Our team can hide or remove reviews and replies that break these rules.

6. Pro plan and extra listings

  • Pro is a one-time payment for a business owner account, not a subscription. It adds more listings, full stats, more photos per listing (shown as a slider), a boost in search results, and no other businesses’ ads on your business page. The current price and features are shown in the “Go Pro” pop-up before you pay.
  • Pro stays on your account for as long as the account exists. It belongs to the account and can’t be moved to another account. If you delete your account, Pro ends with it.
  • Pro owners at their listing limit can buy extra listings, one at a time.
  • If you stop being Pro (for example after a refund, or if we remove it for breaking these Terms), your extra photos stay saved but hidden, and Pro-only features turn off.
  • We may change prices and what each plan includes for future purchases. A price is fixed on your request once you send it.

7. Ads

Owners can pay to show posters for a live listing as a card marked “Ad” in search and category results and among the “related places” on business pages.

  • An ad has 1 to 3 posters and runs for 7, 15 or 30 days. One ad at a time per listing.
  • An ad starts no earlier than the day after you send it, so our team has time to review it. You choose the start day, up to 60 days ahead. It runs from its start day to its end day, both included.
  • Poster rules: no phone numbers, no website or social media links or addresses, and no QR codes. People reach you through your KantoHub page, which the ad opens. Posters must also be yours to use, be true, and follow the same content rules as listings (nothing illegal, misleading, offensive or adult).
  • Every ad is checked by our team before it runs. We can send it back with a note so you can fix it, and we can stop a running ad that breaks these rules.
  • We decide where and how often ads appear. Ads are matched to the category and area people are looking at, and are not shown on a Pro owner’s business page or on your own page. We don’t guarantee a number of views or clicks; you can see your ad’s views and clicks in your dashboard.

8. Paying and refunds

  • We take payment by GCash or Maya only, sent to the account shown on the payment page. After paying, you send us a screenshot of the receipt and the reference number. Our team checks them against our GCash or Maya account and then turns on what you paid for. This is done by hand, so it can take some time.
  • We never ask for your GCash or Maya PIN, password or one-time code. Don’t send them to anyone who claims to be us.
  • If we can’t match your payment (wrong amount, unclear screenshot, wrong reference number), we send the request back with a note so you can fix it and send it again.
  • Ads: you can ask for a refund of an ad before it starts running, or if our team has not reviewed it in time for its start day. Once an ad has started running, it can’t be refunded. If we stop an ad because it breaks these Terms, it isn’t refunded.
  • Pro and extra listings: once turned on, these are not refundable, except for a duplicate payment or a mistake on our side. If we refund Pro or an extra listing, we turn it off again.
  • Refunds are sent back to the GCash or Maya account the payment came from.

9. Inquiries, follows and notifications

  • “Send an inquiry” sends your message to the business by email and to the owner’s dashboard. Use it for real questions to the business, not for spam or advertising.
  • Adding a business to your favorites also follows it: with an account you get a notice in the bell, and an email, when it posts today’s menu or a promo. You can turn these emails off in My account, or with the unsubscribe link in each email. Push notifications on your phone or computer are only sent if you turn them on.
  • We also send emails your account needs, such as confirming your email, password and security notices, and messages about your listings, payments, badge and ads.

10. What you post

You keep ownership of the text, photos and posters you post. By posting them, you give KantoHub a free, non-exclusive licence to show, store, resize and share them on the site and in link previews, emails and notifications, for as long as they are on the site. You confirm that you have the right to post them. Promos, menus and prices you post are your own offer to customers: honour them.

11. Things you must not do

  • Post anything false, misleading, illegal, hateful, sexual, violent or that infringes someone else’s rights.
  • List a fake business, a business that isn’t yours, or the same business twice to get around limits.
  • Use someone else’s phone number, documents, photos or name.
  • Send fake receipts, edited screenshots or someone else’s reference number.
  • Harass businesses or other members, or collect their information for other uses.
  • Scrape, copy in bulk, overload or try to break into the site, or get around its limits and checks.
  • Report listings in bad faith.

12. Reporting a problem

If a listing is closed, wrong, spam or offensive, use “Report this listing” on its page (you need to be logged in; one report per listing). Our team looks at every report and may edit, hide or remove the listing. We don’t tell the owner who reported it.

13. Suspending and closing accounts

You can delete your account at any time in My account. Owners delete their listings first. We may hide content, remove a badge or Pro, stop ads, or suspend or delete an account that breaks these Terms, puts others at risk, or uses the site for fraud. Where we can, we tell you why. Payments for an account removed for fraud or serious breaches are not refunded.

14. Supporting the developer

The “Buy me a beer” link in the footer, when shown, is a voluntary gift to the developer. It doesn’t buy any feature and isn’t refundable.

15. No guarantees

Most of the information on KantoHub comes from business owners and members. We work to keep it accurate but can’t promise that every listing, price, map pin, hour, review or route is correct or current. Check important details with the business before you go or pay. Maps and routes come from OpenStreetMap services and are estimates. The site is provided “as is” and may sometimes be unavailable.

16. Limits of our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, KantoHub is not responsible for the products, services, prices, conduct or safety of the businesses listed, for what members or owners post, or for losses that come from using the site. If we are found responsible, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under Philippine consumer law that can’t be waived.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we’ll tell account holders by email or a notice on the site. Using the site after a change means you accept the new Terms.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. We’ll first try to settle any disagreement with you directly and in good faith.
